Bill UPDATE: HB26-1047 Protections for Residential Tenants
KILLED IN COMMITTEE!
Major Win: House Bill 26-1047, Protections for Residential Tenants, which would have suppressed evictions and required full leases, ledgers, and supporting documentation to be included in a demand and court filing, was killed in committee Tuesday, 2/24! We had a huge turnout of witnesses, 40+ people, with three times as many witnesses testifying against the bill as in support. A huge thank you to all our members who took the afternoon to testify, or who reached out to members of the Judicial Committee to express your concerns about this legislation.
